Which standards and specifications do you supply against?
ā¼
Seamless Steel Industries supplies piping materials conforming to recognized national and international engineering standards, including ASTM (e.g. A106, A335, A312, A234, A105), ASME, API (API 5L line pipe), EN, DIN, JIS, and Indian Standards (IS 1239 Part 1, IS 3589). All products are supplied with mill identification and standard documentation.
Do you deliver outside Maharashtra?
ā¼
Yes. Operating from our central logistics hub in MumbaiāThane, Seamless Steel Industries coordinates freight and dispatches materials across India, regularly servicing industrial clients in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh.
What is the operational difference between seamless and ERW pipe?
ā¼
Seamless steel pipe is manufactured by hot-extruding a solid steel billet through a piercer, resulting in a continuous, weld-free tubular cross section suited for high pressures, high temperatures, and severe mechanical environments. ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) pipe is manufactured by roll-forming steel coil and longitudinally resistance-welding the seam, commonly used for low-to-medium pressure fluid conveyance, gas distribution, and structural applications.
What documentation and test certificates (MTC) are provided with orders?
ā¼
Consignments are accompanied by Manufacturer Test Certificates (MTC) conforming to EN 10204 Type 3.1. These certificates provide complete chemical composition, mechanical properties (tensile strength, yield strength, elongation), and hydrostatic or non-destructive examination (NDT) results correlated with the respective heat and lot numbers.
Can we submit a Bill of Materials (BOM) or engineering drawings for quotation?
ā¼
Yes. Procurement and engineering teams can attach technical drawings, BOM spreadsheets, cut-length schedules, or requisition PDFs (up to 5MB) directly through our online Request a Quote portal or via email. Our sales engineering desk verifies all line items against inventory and mill lead times.
What pipe sizes, wall thicknesses, and schedules are commonly supplied?
ā¼
Seamless pipes are supplied from 1/2" NB up to 24" NB across standard wall thicknesses including Schedule 20, 30, STD, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, and XXS. ERW pipes are supplied in light, medium, and heavy classes up to larger nominal diameters. Exact availability depends on the specified material grade and standard.
Can Third-Party Inspection (TPI) be arranged prior to dispatch?
ā¼
Yes. Third-party inspection (TPI) can be accommodated through internationally recognized agencies such as LRS, TUV, DNV, BV, SGS, IRS, or client-deputed inspectors, subject to prior commercial agreement and inspection protocol definition before dispatch.
What is the typical commercial quotation turnaround time?
ā¼
For standard stocked specifications, nominal bore sizes, and standard fittings, commercial quotations are typically prepared and dispatched within 24 business hours. Complex BOM packages involving custom wall thicknesses or multiple metallurgy grades may require additional review time to confirm mill rolling schedules.
Which standards do you supply against?
ā¼
We supply against ASTM, ASME, API and IS standards depending on the product and grade required. Please share your specification and we will confirm availability.
What is the difference between seamless and ERW pipe?
ā¼
Seamless pipe is manufactured without a weld seam, generally offering higher pressure ratings, while ERW (welded) pipe is manufactured by rolling and electric-resistance welding, and is typically more economical for lower-pressure applications.
